The importance of communication skills in engineering

“Employers identify communication as one of the basic competencies every graduate should have, asserting that the ability to communicate is valuable for obtaining employment and maintaining successful job performance.”

Sherwyn Morreale, Michael Osborn & Judy Pearson, Professors of Communication (2000)

My thoughts:

Communicating effectively is an essential skill every graduates should acquire. In the working world, communication can help foster a good working relationship between colleagues and supervisors which can in turn improve morale and efficiency. Moreover, good communication skills are essential so that information can be passed more accurately and quickly.
